... Belezas paradoxais - Emma Watson - by BlogpaediaIn terms of high fashion, hip-hop has had influence on primarily two important designers- Karl Lagerfeld and Isaac Mizrahi. Both Lagerfeld and Mizrahi, who are respected and prestigious designers, looked for cues from and were influenced by hip-hop fashion elements. For the Chanel Fall/Winter Ready-to-Wear line, Karl Lagerfeld had embraced the hip-hop style of the big, heavy gold jewelry. Some models were dressed in black leather jackets with an abundance of gold chains. Others were dressed in long dresses with heavy padlocked silver chains, similar to the one worn by Treach of Naughty by Nature. Isaac Mizrahi came in direct contact with the trend by his elevator operator, who, at the moment, was sporting the typical heavy gold chain that was central to hip hop fashion at the time. In his show the following season, models were featured wearing black catsuits with big gold chains, nameplates and black bomber jackets.

Jenna Lyons and the J.Crew design team and CEO Mickey Drexler are in Hong Kong to celebrate the opening of their expansion in Hong Kong, the first in Asia to have free-standing J.Crew stores. Speaking of day jobs, congratulations on the stores. Two stores in Hong Kong. Last year when we met you were just exploring the idea of expansion. I didn’t think a year ago that it would be happening now. It’s exciting. Designing a store internationally — it’s been easier than I’ve expected as we’ve had that experience with our London store. It’s gone pretty seamlessly. I am so happy with the stores. Why do a separate store for men and women? When we do combined stores they are larger and there aren’t really a lot of large footprints here and also what we’ve been gravitating to are smaller and more specialized experiences. We’ve seen men respond well to having an environment specifically geared towards them, with a staff focus on their needs.

And that’s been a successful model for us. That doesn’t mean we won’t do a combined store it’s just that the real estate is not available and it’s all about location. You’ve had a couple of seasons at Lane Crawford, what did you learn from that? What it gave us was an understanding of the market. We weren’t sure if people would respond to the product. We had no idea. But we’ve had a tremendous response from the Lane Crawford team and their customers and that was very encouraging and it made us feel confident. We also thought that potentially the style here would be different, that they would dress differently but the fact of the matter is is that style isn’t necessarily attached to a zip code. How are you addressing concerns over slightly higher prices here compared to the US? We’ve done everything we possibly can to address that. We’ve gone back and forth with Lane Crawford a lot to make sure that things are adjusted.

I’m finally home from Kansas City and now have the rental van unpacked and turned in! I’ve made a list of your requests and will fill orders according to date and time of receipt. I will be sending out confirmations as soon as I get through all the orders. A few of the items sold out at convention, but I’m fairly certain we should be able to place a reorder as long as the fabric is available. However, it’s important that you let me know asap if you would like to be placed on a wait list, as it’s important to do the reorders at one time. Payment for reorders will be due when the item is ready to ship, but please understand that your request to be on the wait list is a commitment to purchase. I’m always happy to try to work out payments if possible. For those of you who were waiting until the “Every Day’s A Holiday” available fashions were added to my sales page, I’m happy to say that my “Sandra Stillwell Presents” blog has been updated! I was specifically looking for dresses because now that we are in the high 80’s-90’s everyday it can just be too hot for jeans. This number from H&M could be the perfect dress to wear to a summer wedding. A little more expensive from Nordstroms but you could add a belt and give it a little pizazz! I’m not sure of the quality of this from Shein but for 12.00 I’m sure you could get one or two wears out of it! Shein which I’m thinking about ordering! For a mere 32.00 you could wear this one from Shein on your next occasion! How cool and breezy does this one look? Banana Republic didn’t have much left but this one is new and looks like a perfect dress for me! I started out to just do a post on white dresses but I couldn’t find that many! Do You Ever Shop Forever21?

BN Style Exclusive: Elohor Aisien in Osman, Mo Abudu in Givenchy, Eku Edewor in Alexander Wang & More Fashion Scoop from the 2013 Aquafina Elite Model Look Nigeria Finale in Lagos - BellaNaija - 웹

If you couldn’t tell from my about 10 billion instagrams, I had a blast in the Bahamas. I got a lot of comments/emails about the two dresses above. Both are from Forever21! You can find the black one here and the hot pink dress here. Ok so, I’m not normally a Forever21 shopper, but I needed some ‘fast fashion’ for this past bachelorette weekend. I knew we were going to a club (literally) and so I wanted something stylish/chich/trendy while still staying true to myself; so, the night before my flight, I ran to Forever21 and found just what I was looking for. I also knew I wanted to spend as little as possible because I will most likely never wear either of these dresses again. Do you ever shop Forever21? Have you ever been to a club (and no, this time, I do not mean a country club 😉 ? I was in the Bahamas, too– let’s just say that probably deserves its own blog post, ha! All in all, it was so much fun, and I am so glad I had these cute pieces for the trip because my back up was this J. Crew shift dress and after the experience, that would not have worked! Have a fabulous day!

Her hair was styled down, with flowers among her tresses. Ratajkowski styled her hat with a bustier stripe top, Re/Done denim cutoff shorts, and sneakers. Pierre has styled the three preceding first ladies: Laura Bush, Hillary Clinton and Michelle Obama. This led to Pink Rug and Co., her Etsy store of masterfully styled, highly curated Moroccan rugs for modern homes. Its taut tale of the ravaging effects of jealousy has not been intrusively styled, as so many productions of Shakespeare are today, in a mode of searing contemporary relevance. Centenera also styles the Yeezy collections, and through her Adidas connection got the dialogue started on including one of the brand’s sneakers in this collection. Almost from the beginning Kim Jong Un has been styled to remind his people of his grandfather, Kim Il Sung, the founder of the nation and a symbol of the prosperity and growth North Korea enjoyed under Soviet patronage. Most machines that perform better than this in these games are bulkier and are styled as gaming PCs, which is not everyone’s cup of tea. Whatever the history may tell, the quintessential common man has always innovated new ways of using things. Take, for example, messenger bags, which were ‘invented’ for couriers have been adapted to suit all others. The first recognition perhaps must go to linesmen who stuffed their tools into messenger bags so that they can climb lamp poles hands free. Today, messenger bags have become so inseparable to many sections of the society, that a glancing look at who are all using them, must underline their utility. Messenger bags are no more just the utility carriers as they entered this century. Thanks to the ingenuity of youth whose constant affinity for newer things has turned the utility bag into a fashion accessory. Take the brands like Eagle Creek, Patagonia, Osprey and Quiksilver which have added more value than what was expected of the bags. Let’s take a peep into the new avatar of messenger bags.

Hat Woman Wearing Person Attractive GlamouIt’s been a long time since I presented new LOTRO outfitting blogs (aside from tweeting a little here, a little there), which is shameful and I’d like to set this right! For instance, I realized I totally neglected launch of the Starry Mantle last November (I mean I didn’t write about it – of course I’ve been totally hooked up on Starry from the beginning!). No more mistakes like this anymore! Landroval Style has been up for a month and a half and already has a nice collection of good looking outfits. It presents blog owner’s creations, as well as other Landroval players – I totally love the “Seen on the Streets” category, which is kind of Landroval fashion police. There are several other interesting series, such as Dress It Up challenges or Cloak of the Day – don’t miss them! Diamint). There’s bountiful collection of outfits – please check them out and encourage the author to continue posting! You might need Google Translate’s help for this one, but Estel Fashion is certainly worth checking out. An Unexpected Fashion Blog launched only last month and it already has a lot of inspirational posts. I particularly love a gypsy maiden, so wonderfully set within the scenery. Tip: I also updated my blogroll on the right side – check it out! I’ve separated outfitting blogs from other sites, so that it’s easier to search among them.

Some time ago we started the Studio Visits. The first in the series was a visit to the studio of Sober, for the second installment we would like to introduce you to Tony Marcus Sacharias. We hope you enjoy and it won’t take just as long until the next! Tony Marcus Sacharias (1980) is a conceptual fashion-designer who originates from Drenthe, a province in the North-East of the Netherlands. In 2010 he graduated from the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam. Tony first caught our eye during Amsterdam International Fashion Week S/S 2012, where he presented his collection, ‘Marked by life’. At the moment his studio is situated in his home a bit outside the centre of Amsterdam. Arriving at his studio and stepping inside the hall of the apartment our gaze is attracted by the focused room. The first part of the space presents a cosy living room with two couches and a small table in front of a television. The second part is divided from the first by a wardrobe with Tony’s latest collection and has a functional and tidy studio atmosphere. Bookshelves and pictures of his work in progress are arranged around a huge white table. General fashion books and other more specific art books are presented on white shelves. We spot books on Lucian Freud, Cindy Sherman and Egon Schiele, these hint to the designers inspirations for his collections.

It’s been exactly one year since I started my blog. Before I didn’t had any expectations nor a clue of what is going to happen and what I’m going to face. One reason that I started my blog was because in my younger ages ( I’m still very young I know but just saying haha) many people told me to do something in fashion. The idea wasn’t bad because I was actually highly interested in it. I mean we all know those stories when we were kids and played dressing up in mummy’s closet and heels. We all been there! However first I wanted to become a fashion designer then I realised that I’m not really good at sewing and so on. I think you know where my point is .. I tried to find something that I was able to do and good at and luckily in the end I came across fashion blogging through a african model contest that I participated and got to know some bloggers there. I felt like this is exactly what I want to do and share my fashion experience and own style to others. And so all began! Fabeau Trends’ was made .. I had a real blessed year even though I had some beginner struggles but I guess it’s normal. To be honest in my first week of trying myself as a fashion blogger I immediately wanted to quite already. But something stopped me from that ridiculously thought and made me stay focused and continue with my hobby. Which outfit is/was your favourite? Kisses to everyone of you who made me for who I am now. I couldn’t have made it without the support of you guys. Seriously I am really fortunate to have you.

Not Dead Yet Style (don’t you love the name of her blog?) regarding warm weather layers. I must admit that, during the summer months here in Spain, the idea of wearing layers isn’t very tempting, especially during the day-time with temperatures at over 30 degrees centigrade. However the other evening we were going to be sitting outside one of our favourite restaurants watching the Cabalgata Tradicional (traditional wine procession) in Jumilla, so I decided to wear layers in case it became cooler at midnight! The top layer was a short-sleeved pink shirt from the Ines de la Fressange collection in Uniqlo, which I spotted on my trip to London in July. Underneath it I am wearing a blue camisole top and the patterned trousers that I bought recently from Kettlewell Colours, ready for my holiday to France next week. You may spot the dark grey wrap tied to my bag, which would have been an additional layer apart from the fact that it wasn’t needed. I loved wearing this shirt as it skims over any wobbly bits and, though the angle of the photo doesn’t do it justice, I think this is a flattering look for women of a certain age. This outfit is definitely going to be packed for our trip! Why not click on the link and have a look at Not Dead Yet Style? I love Patti’s outfit and I also love “Une Femme’s”, which is where I discovered the link for Visible Monday.

Since quite some time we at Dam Style have been thinking of ways to show you a bit more of Amsterdam’s fashion people. Of course street style is still our main focus, the styles of the street have come far and are always influencing (high) fashion, but the clothes have to come from somewhere. To show this we decided to make visits to the studios of some young Amsterdam based designers. Off the streets in the studios so to say. We hope you’ll enjoy the extensive read! The first in this series is Sober. Sober came to us by way of Elza – one of the Dam Style photographers. It is quite a fresh brand, just a few collections young. The result of the collaboration between Robbert Wefers-Bettink & Cissy Noordeloos, it is a through and through Dutch label, but with an international edge to it as we found out. Their background comes into play in it’s collections through the combination of minimal shapes, refined details and rich materials, creating a feeling of timelessness.

In the four years I’ve run this blog, I’ve never officially taken a break. Well, time for a virtual vacation. I’ve become less enchanted with Vixen Vintage lately, partially due to lifestyle change, namely quitting my job. I have less reason to dress in the various vintage items I own, and days are spent very casual and home oriented. At first I couldn’t quite get used to the fact that those suits and heels won’t get as much mileage anymore, but after some time I’ve adapted to a new chapter. I don’t want to abandon Vixen Vintage, but I am taking it in a new direction. It won’t be so focused on outfits only, but more of a photojournal. I love taking pictures and would like to improve, and there’s so much to photograph! So for those of you who may not come back, thank you so very much for visiting, even if your stay was short. For those who wish to follow along whatever life brings next, I’ll see you here in a couple of weeks!

My goodness, when did I have time to work? Life is good when you can choose your busyness! However, it sometimes interferes with alters one’s on-going routine and plans. Therefore and henceforth, I am more than a week late in posting a blog post. But, thank you Joyce for always giving us an opportunity to join in with other busy bloggers as we can. 1. What news story are you following right now? The conflict in the Ukraine. We have very special and long-time friends who are serving as missionaries there. They tell us that they are not near the current conflict and we are praying they will be able to remain there in safety. As the Lord brings them to your mind, please pray for Mike and Linda Ray. 2. What’s the last thing you wanted but didn’t get? A steak at Outback last Thursday evening. Other than your own kitchen or BBQ grill, where is your favorite place to go for a hamburger?

Hubby and I were traveling this past weekend and we stopped for a hamburger on the way home. It was the first we have had in a long time and Dairy Queen makes a delicious one. Since I don’t eat them very often, I really don’t have a favorite place. 4. How have your priorities changed over time? That is an interesting question and interesting that you would ask it at this particular time. Hubby and I were discussing this only last weekend as we spent time together in the car. I have come to realize that my life prior to this time revolved around my family. Not necessarily with time because we do not live near either one of our children, but more so with thought, consideration and involvement. The Lord has taken me on quite a journey the last several months and as a result, I am seeing these priorities change. My interest in and desire to remain involved has not changed, but perhaps it is the sense of “needing” that has changed. My priority now is to consciously seek the Lord everyday and allow Him to orchestrate my involvement and “control” all those relationships.

Her Baggy Shirt Was Slightly Wrinkled

After the cover was released earlier this month, Wonderland Magazine has released images from Kristen Stewart’s photo shoot by Saint Laurent creative director, Hedi Slimane. The rebellious, dark haired actress was photographed in black and white for these moody portraits where she smokes and flaunts casual style in leather jackets and casual t-shirts. Very “rebel without a cause”, James Dean style going on in this shoot. Kristen is definitely the female version of the legendary actor. Kristen’s style in the shoot was very eclectic, with nonchalant attitude mixed in. Her baggy shirt was slightly wrinkled, mixed with denim and leather jackets and long necklaces the minimal make-up and disheveled hair completed the look. In Kristen’s interview, she talks about working along side Julianne Moore in “Still Alice”, and how the actress has taught her new things about acting. “She’s so cool; she just floats,” Stewart says of Moore. “Working with Julianne made me feel better about the way I approach acting, which can be quite technical…Julianne is undeniably talented, but she’s still a bit of a surgeon.

Hence, you should avail this opportunity. The prom braided horse ponytail is also one of the styles of kids’ braids hairstyles, and like the previous above mentioned one, it also gives you full authority to keep playing with your hair while changing their dimensions and designs. You just need to make it once and then you are free to mold the style according to your mood. This hairstyle is for long hair because you are going to make a horse ponytail and it will give you a chic and smart look. Well, move to the next, horse ponytail requires you to make long braids of fine strands, the braids must be so beautiful that your scalp becomes visible, and design should be discernable. Then, for the sum up process, you will need a beautiful ponytail to keep all the braids pack high up on the head. Further, you can turn this horse ponytail into the flower shape by twisting it and by securing it with pins. These are some kid braids hairstyles that so fashionable and trendy. A mother who find to make updos a challenging task usually turn to a salon or any other hairstylist that charges so much for making a kid style.

I was raised in the 70’s when many boys had long hair. I was about 5 when my mother dressed me in my 4 yr old sister’s clothes. I was very small and my sister was a little bigger than me. My father left my mother when I was 3, so she dressed me as a girl all the time. My sister and I looked like twin girls. We had long blonde hair and, besides being smaller than my younger sister, I looked her age too. Around that time, we moved to another city and moved into my mother’s sister’s house. She had a daughter who was my age and my mother was a nurse. My aunt home schooled us. I was raised as a girl and played with my cousin and my sister. There were only girl’s toys to play with and we had so much fun. I remember when I was 8, my hair had grown so long that it was down my back just like my sister’s.

She now was much bigger than me and looked older too. Even though I was a year older, I looked much younger and had to wear her hand-me-downs from when she was 6. Besides being so tiny and young looking, I looked like her cute little sister. Both her and my cousin were now bigger and stronger than me. They were bossy and teased me and called me a baby. When I turned 9, I looked like 7 and my mother dressed me in my cousin’s communion dress and shoes that she wore when she was 7. I got my ears pierced and wore my cousin’s matching necklace. My mother brought me to a potrait studio for my communion pictures. I looked just like a pretty 7 yr old girl in the photos. I was so happy that I looked so pretty. By now I forgot what is was like to be a boy and I loved being a girl.

When I look around me, my eyes absorb what I see and I decide who I need to be accordingly. Rectangular rooms, a cat and people who look a little like me turn me into one kind of person. White desks, new faces, Apple computers and coffee mugs everywhere turn me into an awfully quiet version of myself. And stone pillars, wooden benches and friendly faces make me the happiest version of myself. But the list goes on. I have never questioned why one needs to be so many different people. That’s just how it is. The switches are quiet and smooth. They’re easy. They’re the purest version of shape shifting I have seen in the real world. In dreams, people change form all the time. My mom turns into my best friend and my cat is suddenly the guy I crush on in college. And all this shape shifting goes unquestioned until I wake up and go what the heck.

The Fashion Bomb Blog /// All Urban Fashion…All The Time

Fashion PULIS Fashion PULIS: January 2014 - 웹Sorry for delay, but this post is worth the wait! As promised, today is the day for the Bomb Anniversary contest. I’m a twenty-something year old in a city and an industry where fabulosity is EXTREMELY important. I’m absolutely, positively addicted. I’m the type of person who’d rather have a cute dress than a balanced meal, would rather spend a Saturday in Soho stores than sunning, and would take shoes over security. When people are carrying shopping bags full of clothes, all I want to do is ask them ‘What’d you buy? I get excited over fashion magazines like Lucky (just clothes, no talkie), and watch TLC’s ‘What Not To Wear’ religiously (and have written TLC letters many times asking to have reruns during the week, not just Friday nights!). I babbled on and on, but you get the point. Thankfully, a lot has changed since then. Time to really celebrate! So, I have some amazing gift bags (two to be exact) to give to the Fashion Bomb readers who display the most knowledge of topics covered by The Fashion Bomb (and me by default).

The description is very brief: very loose-fitting pull on romper and jumpsuit have cold should and length variations. The “cold shoulder” description shoulder be “cold arm” instead. It comes in two size groupings: XS-S-M and L, XL,XXL. The second grouping was the only copy at the Orland Park JoAnn’s. So I just bought it with the thought of adjusting it as needed. So I used the large and scaled it down. I guess somewhere between a medium and large. As the large was much too big for me. This pattern has a lot of style ease. The finished bust is 48.5 inches and the finished hips is 50 inches. Both well above my measurements. I scaled it back at least 4 inches in both areas. My finished jumpsuit looks similar to the drawing. I don’t think the “cropped” pants is quite the look for me. So I lengthened the pants by several inches so that the hem falls around the heel of my shoes.

Fashion For Nerds

This top is so stretchy and comfortable; it feels a lot like bathing suit fabric. Perhaps this is what inspired me to go with a tousled, beachy hairdo today. Surprisingly, mussed up hair is a lot more difficult to achieve than perfectly-groomed styles. I used to not be able to do it at all until my hairdresser taught me the trick. I’d read in various fashion mags that you’re supposed to crunch your hair as you’re drying it; what those mags don’t tell you is that it really only works when you have curly or wavy hair. My hair is naturally straight; the texture and random waves produced by crunching fall out if I so much as look at it wrong. The trick my hairdresser taught me is to get the hair very hot with the blowdryer, grab a section and crunch it, but don’t let go until the hair cools.

Fashion PULIS Fashion PULIS: October 2014 - 웹That way the waves are “set” before you let gravity start working against you. Once it’s all dry I add a little texturing paste, then spray on a little hairspray and crunch it some more while the hairspray is still wet. The green halter top by is by Ktoo (via The Red Dress Shoppe), black shrug by Weston Wear, skirt from an unknown manufacturer, shoes by Camper. Clearly there’s no way I can get away with wearing this top at work without the shrug, and even then I think it might be pushing the envelope a little, but such is my way. I wish I could find more shrugs like this; it’s lightweight and sheer, and adds just the right finishing touch without completely covering what’s underneath. This would be an ideal outfit for going out straight after work, as all I’d have to do is remove the shrug. It also has to be one of the most comfortable ensembles ever.

Outside of that it does look like the drawing. The instructions were a piece of cake. Nothing difficult or confusing. It seems like I always say that. I like the style of it. The drawstring, the cold arm, and the wide pant leg. I did make a few more changes in the construction of it. Instead of purchasing cording, I made my own. Cutting the fabric on the bias about an inch wide, two pieces 12 inches long for the loops and one piece 20 inches long for the drawstring. Plus it is a perfect match for the jumpsuit. I added 1.5 inches to the length of the bodice. The raw edges were serged. To finish the cold arm opening I only turned the cloth once. So you can see the serged edges. The instructions say to cut the elastic the measure of your waist plus an inch. I cut it 5 inches smaller. I will make it again. I think I will use the bodice and make a skirt waist dress instead of a jumpsuit. I do recommend this fabric and the pattern to others. The fabric is perfect for those fun floaty summer projects that you might be planning. The pattern is very easy and does not take long to sew. Side Note- I was a little worried about how the photos would turn out. I had a chemical facial peel and laser hair removal less than 24 hours before the pictures were taken. I’m glad that they were publishable as I didn’t want to wait another day before posting something to the Mood Sewing Network blog and my own blog.

In a flurry of ruffles, drapes and pleats, Greek fashion design took centre stage October 21-24 in the second Diners Athens Collections InStyle catwalk spectacle. The Athena is a special world of fashion and style for the women around the world. They have many interesting fashion design collection which sell in the international market place. Greek fashion design always promising a trend fashion models to the women. They made many product of modern cloth’s style for the spring/summer, winter, cool season with nice design. The Grecian trend fashion is exceptionally womanly, pure, airy, and gracious. Greek fashion design (Grecian clothes) are supposed to glide calmly around and off the bodice to express what is known be as celestial, delicate and absolute. Grecian colors tend to be more faint and subtle, because it’s intended to complement the smoothness and shade of summer skin. Now fashion designers are going even further back in time to the roman days and so we have the Grecian style dress making a comeback on the catwalk. Fashion design for the wedding dress by Grecian designer is beautiful style, detail with a draped and pleated front and deep V at the back. However, I guess it’s not the end of the world, as each time I learn from my mistakes and I usually have a few nice bits that I’ve managed to salvage and successfully prettify here and there. Sure, I’d love to make my own beautiful dresses and bonnets like the jaw-droppingly talented Opiate Vampire (click here for examples of her drool-worthy handmade goodness) – just give me another fifteen years to practise and I’ll be well away. At least I’m trying; and hopefully I will learn and improve with time. You can tell in these photos that the ribbon and lace are not of the best quality; you may want to spend a little more than I did for finer fabrics and probably a better result. This is quite a versatile tutorial – you could use the same layering technique to make belts, wristbands, probably even little thingies to tie around ponytails.

Have you worked a puzzle of any kind in the past week? We occasionally play Mexican Train and Rummikub with friends. I have downloaded an app onto my iPad called Magic Puzzles. It is a collection of jigsaw puzzles and I will have to admit to an addiction. 2. What is one place you were thankful for this year? ONE is on your must-do list for Thanksgiving day? For those of you playing along who aren’t in the US, answer as it relates to any big holiday meal. Watch football. This has been a tradition in our family for as long as I can remember. Although we will be visiting our UTexas family, I feel sure we will watch the Texas A&M vs. LSU game being played in the MetLife Dome in Dallas Thanksgiving night. Our oldest granddaughter and future Grandson will be graduates of A&M and we are diehard LSU fans.

I feel sure we will be in the minority, but that’s alright. It is all about the SEC! 4. Besides Thanksgiving, what’s your favorite home cooked meal? Just give me a big Saturday brunch of biscuits, omelet and fruit. My sweet hubby is good at this! But, my real favorite meal will have to be the Christmas Day breakfast we share with our Indiana family. It mostly consists of our DIL’s family recipes and some new ones that have now become part of our tradition. 5. What product from an infomercial would you most like to own? I don’t watch them, and can’t think of a thing I need to own. Will you shop on Black Friday? How do you feel about stores opening on Thanksgiving Day? What percentage of your Christmas shopping is done online? I have done some of my shopping but still have a few things to do.

I do NOT plan to shop on Black Friday. I would love for all stores to be closed on Thanksgiving Day. I think people would adjust knowing they will either have to buy the day before or wait until Friday. At this point the majority of my shopping has been done online. 7. What are you most grateful for that adds beauty to your everyday life? The love and devotion of my husband. I never want to take that for granted. Memories of my parents and the closeness of my two sisters. My children and their spouses who are all amazing parents and citizens of the Kingdom. Our seven beautiful grandchildren who are all as different as day light and dark and bring so much spice and life and joy to our lives. Today is my sister’s birthday! Gin, you are the glue that holds us as sisters together. You are our inspiration. You are our favorite survivor! We love you and are so thankful for you.

The fashion industry is exploding and everyone, it seems, is vying for a part in the action. To get ahead in the business and sit with the ranks of Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein, you as an aspiring designer should have some of the same qualities as the world’s top designers. A great fashion designer has excellent business skills. You understand budgets, marketing, and sales concepts that are vital to getting designs produced and sold. A number of people are involved in the creation of a garment, and as designer, you must be able to effectively communicate to everyone involved what he or she expects. You continually strive to do better than your peers to come up with quality innovative designs quickly. You have a great sense of style and are constantly coming up with new ideas for fashions. Excellent drawing skills mean you can easily sketch your ideas onto paper to start the production process. You have an eye for the materials of a garment, as well as the elements that make it unique, such as color and fabric. You can construct the garments you design. You understand what materials work best in the designs you are developing. Great fashion designers work well as part of a team. Designing a garment for production involves the work of many, from pattern making to sewing to shipping. As designer, you must be able to work well with all involved. You follows trends and have a good eye for anticipating what your audience will respond to next. Good fashion designers can visualize a garment before ever putting an idea on paper. You can see the finished product well before production and can put your ideas into words and onto paper so others can grasp the idea as well.
